Appy Saude Takes Now Angolan Public Health Sector Online

Appy Saude is an Angola based startup that is aiming to take the country’s health sector to another level. Launched in April 2017, the startup offers the largest database of healthcare facilities in the country commanding a total of more than 1, 7000 medical facilities listed in the platform.  Users can get information’s such as services offered; medical specialties covered insurance accepted, as well as the contact details of the 1,700 medical facilities listed, which are located around Angola.

Information details were gathered manually by the startup’s workforce, with the startup claiming that they are the first ones to pitch tents in the Angolan health sector. The startup has no competitors currently since it’s still unique in the market. According to Clara Vieira, marketing manager at Appy Saúde, they are still the largest database since there is no other startup in the country that operates on the same ground as Appy Saude.

The other big site engines have not yet collected information on premises the Appy Saude has done. The company has information on-site in all the 18 provinces in Angola. The currently updated information cannot be found in any other database.  Apart from the information on healthcare facilities and pharmacies, the app has promotion menu listing health promotions that are found in Angola, ratings, and comments from users, and emergency and GP contacts and maps.

Since the launch of the app more than 12, 500 users have been able to download the app for free on either Android or iOS. The platform targets to have every health facilities listed on the platform by the end of 2018 and they plan to develop a web-based version of the database. An appointment booking function is also in the making. The startup’s main aim is to provide important and reliable health information hence making people’s lives easier.
