For more than a decade Zimbabwe went through a period of inflation. The hardest part that came with that is sending money to other countries. There are many processes that are involved and the cost is also not favoring many people. But BitMari has come to help solve the problems that Zimbabweans are facing in sending money to the other countries. Apart from using blockchain technology, BitMari has collaborated with Agribank. The collaboration will allow BitMari to carry out transactions for Agribank’s clients.

BitMari was the first ever bitcoin startup to get money license for transmitting money. The license came from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. Tim Akinbo who is the CEO and co-founder of Tanjalo is the initiator of the transaction. Tim managed to send bitcoin worth $15 from Nigeria-Zimbabwe. He used the startup’s platform in carrying out the transaction. Tim says that the modern speed used to carry out transactions will help in connecting people across Africa. He also gave an explanation on how transaction process takes place. He did that through a video which was uploaded on the startup’s platform.

According to Sinclair Skinner, BitMari’s co-founder, the startup’s approval of Lightning is active use of blockchain technology and bitcoin to offer solutions to the world problems facing both local and diaspora Africans. He gave an example of expensive remittance. Furthermore, he has played an important role in taking bitcoin and blockchain technology to all over Africa for adoption.

The Lightning Network develops added one more layer on top of the bitcoin’s blockchain. This is what increases the speed and offers affordable transaction. The Lightning node was launched by BitMari in order to support the upgrade to the Bitcoin network on its platform. Bitcoin has helped to increase the speed of money transfers in Africa. The speed has been a major problem in the continent. Apart from high-speed transactions, it also offers the services at affordable costs.  BitMari is looking forward to increasing its customer base due to high adoption of cryptocurrency globally. Furthermore, it aims at making Bitcoin acceptance by everyone in the continent.
