BitPesa Startup Boosts Digital Foreign Exchange in Africa

Elizabeth Rossiello launched BitPesa in 2013. The startup is an online payment platform and digital forex as well. The company is situated in Nairobi, Kenya. The company so far makes good progress by use of blockchain  technology. Recently, the startup gained worldwide reputation. This follows tight regulation on cryptocurrency by many economies. As an African Microfinance specialist, she observed market opportunity in Kenya.

Rossiello obtained the startup idea from the use of M-Pesa. This initiative is transforming online money transactions in Kenya via mobile phone. During global economic recession in 2008, many bank institutions closed down. Africa was the most affected continent in the world.
