TechInAfrica – A UK fintect company, Fiskl is collaborating with a South African fintech company, Ocean on 76 to launch a mobile app in Africa. The plan to launch a mobile app is a strategic plan of Fiskl to gaining acknowledgment in the continent. Moreover, it also aims to help the African SMEs to deal with their daily tasks, including invoice making, expense, as well as time management through mobile devices.
Speaking of Fiskl’s plan across Africa and the partnership with Ocean on 76, the Co-Founder and CEO of Fiskl, Alina Lapusneanu said: “Africa is the perfect environment for Fiskl to thrive. The continent is home to many rapidly-growing economies that have seen small to medium-sized enterprises flourish. And, of course, the mobile phone is one of their most critical business tools. Using the app, business owners can manage everything, and we are extremely excited about the opportunities to bring these capabilities to Africa’s small businesses together with Ocean on 76.”
The Founder and CEO of Ocean on 76, Prins Mhlanga said that the company is expanding its market in the continent using mobile networks. Furthermore, the company wants to create more opportunities in mobile services environment and use technology to distribute mobile services as well as digital content across Africa.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Fiskl, Lapusneanu realized how their partnership with Ocean on 76 will last long considering there are over 350 million SMEs spread worldwide. He said: “Our go-to-market strategy relies heavily on local partnerships, such as mobile operators, banks and other mobile or SME oriented partners. Ocean on 76 is a reputable player in delivering value-added services to the mobile market in Africa. We have found a like-minded partner with incredible local market insight and relationships that can help extend our reach in southern Africa.”
The partnership between Fiskl and Ocean on 76 bring along ambitious plans to distribute their services outside South Africa in the next few months. Lapusneanu stated: “Over the next 20 years, due to technological changes and population growth, new jobs will be primarily created by micro-SMEs. Fiskl’s financial and business management platform is a tool that can help these micro-SMEs improve their chances of survival.”
