Acquiring formal education can be quite expensive especially in universities or tertiary colleges. It is even much harder for a fresher to buy goods in colleges with ease. Graduates also tend to sell their used items after completing their studies. But getting who to buy the products is also hard. Therefore, the best way to solve all this mess is by creating a marketplace. However, GuddiesPlanet comes in to solve such a mess in Nigeria. This will be a link to both sellers and buyers hence making work easier. That is why GuddiesPlanet is the solution to the Nigerian students.

Rosanje Adeniyi Michael is the founder of the startup. He is also a member of the Young Africa Leaders Initiative. He is also the founder of GidiPlus which is a business development platform. GuddiesPlanet wants to offer an enabling environment for Nigerian students to study and live in comfort. The startup works on both online and offline basis. The firm also gets information about various products online for buyers in Nigeria. Once an order is made, the platform receives a notification on their website and an SMS is sent to the customer. The product supplier also gets an SMS notification who then process and pack the product. The company, later on, rebrand the product in their custom branded nylon before doing delivery.

Customers are able to make payments on delivery or bank before delivery. But statistics show that most customers prefer payments on delivery. This is because of the fear of online fraud. The company has been able to make 1,800 deliveries without any returns or rejections. Furthermore, the company uses either 35minutes to 3 days to make a delivery. This depends on the customer’s location and delivery done by Gidi Express and others. Delivery cost is as low as #100 and campus deliveries done for free during specific weekends. The company is currently carrying out deliveries in Western Nigeria. The founder used his own money to start the platform and got some support from friends.

Many Nigerian online shopping platforms focus on serving the general public. However, GuddiesPlanet is the first created Nigerian shopping platform that targets students. The company has the largest pool of customers with more than 20 million students depending on it. The platform aims at becoming one of the best online shopping malls in Nigeria and Africa
