Mookh Africa: An Instant and Easy Way for Online Selling

Share

TechInAfrica – Mookh Africa is an e-commerce platform based in Kenya that offers an instant service to sell and buy products online. The system allows sellers to create an online store and sell services or products on different channels, including the seller’s website, social media, Mookh’s website, and mobile applications.

The platform makes all of the online stores integrated into one payment. It processes two types of transactions; mobile money and cards. With the back-end dashboard, sellers can have a full control of their online stores.

The platform was founded by two young men, Eric Thimba and George Gachui with the help of their family, friends, and savings for the funding. When they were asked about their future plan, they both agreed on acquiring great and potential tech talents once they had stable financial investments. If it’s possible for business expansion, they also hoped to expand their business to other African markets.

Thimba and Gachui explained that the current regressive regulations by the government have been a big challenge for the e-commerce companies in Africa to grow their businesses. Thus, they hope that governments won’t implement policies that can break down the growth of e-commerce.

Both of them also agreed that a great customer service is the most effective marketing tool to succeed the business. If customers are happy with the service, they will let others know about that and consequently will lead to the growth of the startup itself. This has been a proven marketing tool so far, they claimed.

During the running of Mookh Africa, both Thimba and Gachui said that they had made many mistakes. They highlighted that one big mistake they had made this far was taking too much time to remove those who didn’t add values to their product/service they were trying to build. That one mistake had slowed them down and ultimately compromised the product they had developed.
