TechInAfrica – Nigeria Innovation Summit will hold its fourth edition on August 20 – 21, 2019 at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja Lagos. The 2019’s edition will go under the theme: Accelerating Nigeria’s Economic Growth Through Innovation.

Nigeria Innovation Summit is dedicated to promoting innovative and sustainable economic development for businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, and government across the country. The initiative supports innovation in Nigeria and helps the country to embrace digital transformation by utilizing emerging technologies and trends, research, development, commercialization, entrepreneurship, as well as investments.

The annual event provides a platform to drive collaborations among government agencies, businesses, global organizations, startups, innovators, researchers, and the academic community.

Kenneth Omeruo, CEO at Emerging Media, one of the organizers of Nigeria Innovation Summit, stated: “This is the time for Nigeria with her youthful population, to leverage new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Blockchain, Internet of Things, Robotics, Data sciences, etc and apply them in sectors like Health, Agriculture, Financial Services, Education, Renewable Energy and Clean-techs to solve problems around us. These opportunities are already creating new businesses who are becoming a major source of foreign investments into Nigeria and that is a major way of accelerating Nigerians economic growth. This is our motivation each year to host this summit”

Citing from Partech Africa 2018’s report, Omeruo explained that SMEs and startups are holding the key for the sustainable economic growth of the country, thus, need to be supported by the government by creating the enabling environment for Nigerian startups and businesses.

The 2019’s Nigeria Innovation Summit will feature a panel of discussions, presentations, workshops, and exhibitions which focus on AgriTech, EduTech, Emerging Technologies, FinTech, HealthTech, Research, Women Entrepreneurship, Youths, amongst others.
