The lovers of African tech will have to keep a close tab on this week’s unfolding events across Nigeria.  We have taken time to bring you various events that are going to take place between 16th and 23rd April 2018.

AR/VR Africa Hackathon

The AR/VR Africa Hackathon offers individual an opportunity to learn more about Augmented and Virtual Reality. It also gives people an opportunity to learn about various great technologies, interact with new people, and have the firsthand experience of AR/AV development and design. This is a good opportunity to the lovers of innovation, learning, and creativity. The startup will be in Lagos, Nigeria between 20th and 22nd April 2018 at Imisi 3D Creation Lab, Yaba. The session will last for a period of 48 hours. Its main area of focus will be on the rapidly evolving great technologies of Augmented and Virtual Reality. Apart from technology, it will handle creation, problem-solving and design. This is the venue to be for those who have interest in 3D modeling, art, film, graphics, game design, sound design, and education.

TechCrunch

TechCrunch is coming to Africa after its visit to Nairobi, Kenya in October 2017. It hosted Startup battlefield that brought together 15 startups that were in their early stages across Africa. The startup is coming in to locate the next bunch of early-age startups solving big problems.   CcHUB invites individuals to meet and have time with the Techcrunch team. One has an opportunity to meet Samantha Stein, the Director of Startup Battlefield. Furthermore, they are able to study more about the program. The team will be on 6th Floor, at Co-Creation Hub, room 294, located at Herbert Macaulay Road, in Sabo, Yaba. The event will take place on 17th April 2018 from 1-3PM.

Lagos Blockchain Lagos

Lagos Blockchain Lagos will be staged courtesy of Canadian government and the Lagos Blockchain in Hackathon. All entrepreneurs, community members, developers, and innovators have an opportunity to go and learn more about the cutting edge technology. They will also have a chance to learn about development solutions and blockchain. The participants will get a chance to gain education knowledge on how to initiate. Moreover, they will get assistance on how to develop prototypes. The main aim is to develop solutions that the Canadian government’s initiative can pilot to trial Blockchain solutions. Seso Global, Consensys, PlotPeer, Canadian High Commission, Gidi VC and UPort are the organizers of the event. The event will take place at Workstation, 7 Ibiyinka Olorunbe in Lagos on 21st April 2018 at 9 AM.

Global Azure Bootcamp Lagos

Global Azure Bootcamp Lagos aims at introducing developers to opportunities brought by the cloud platform and to Azure. Many of the Azure Boot Camp forums are operated by user group leaders all over Nigeria. The sixth big Global Azure Boot camp forum will bring all communities under the same roof. Every user group will get a chance to organize their personal deep dive class on Azule for one day. Currently, there are two auditions one at Kaduna and the other one in Lagos. The event will take place on 21st April 2018 at 9 AM. The venue will be at Microsoft Nigeria Ltd 6th and 7th Floor at Civic Centre Towers in Ozumba Mbadiwe Ave Victoria Island.
