TechInAfrica – The African Development Bank has loaned out and approved a total of $84.22 million to power up electricity in 80,000 rural households in south Rwanda
The project is part of the Rwanda Universal Energy Access Program (RUEAP) to achieve universal access to electricity by 2024, as well as aligned to the country’s long-term development framework called Vision 2050.
The project is expected to impact more power supply reliability and stability across the country, wider access to electricity, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions with access to clean energy. For students, they will have a better study condition with the access to light, as well as affecting the small and medium enterprises with productivity.
