TechInAfrica – The Comic Con Africa made a big decision to skip 2021 and hosting the event next year on 22-25 September, with Johannesburg Expo Center as the location along with the current development of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The annual event organizer, Reed Exhibitions Africa believes waiting until September next year is the safest option, “especially with the current third wave”.
The Comic Con Africa show director, Carla Massmann resonates on the same note, saying that choosing September 2022 as the return date will make Comic Con Africa “to come back in the expected full force, with bigger numbers, more activations, and international talent.”
Massmann reveals the reason why Johannesburg Expo Center came into the picture, in which she said the place will enable the team to safely introduce ‘new and exciting editions of the event, such as StreetCon, TechCon, and more.
“The Expo Centre is easy to access via all highways and is a mere 20 minutes from central points like Fourways, opening the show up to so many more visitors. It also offers ample parking and easy access points, making arrival at the show more efficient and streamlined.”
“We miss the fans and we look forward to welcoming them back in September 2022 to a safe environment,” Massmann concluded.
