Kenya ecommerce startup Sky.Garden raises $4M in serie A funding

Sky.Garden has closed a $4 million Serie A round led by SANAD’s MSME fund, UNCOVERED FUND, Aavishkaar, and the KSK Angel Fund.

This adds to the initial $1.2 million seed round raised by Sky.Garden in 2018. An easy-to-use online marketplace allows informal traders and SMEs to establish businesses and sell their products.

Sky.Garden was launched in 2017 as a software-as-a-service platform. The mobile platform is built for specific African businesses. Its online marketplace helps informal traders and retailers sell their products to consumers. Thousands of Kenyan stores have opened webshops on Sky.Garden.

We earlier covered Sky.Garden’s partnership with Amitruck to create an end-to-end digital chain for last-mile delivery and pick-up of goods. Amitruck is a Kenyan logistics startup.
