SweepSouth, is an online platform where users can book, pay and manage home cleaning services from the comfort of their phones, laptops or tablets. Sweepsouth is the first company in Kenya to offer this services.
The cleanup startup recently raised funding from Futuregrowth to aid its expansion. Launched in South Africa in 2014, the company now offers solutions on heavy lifting, pool cleaning, gardening, fixing and maintenance, and commercial sanitation.
SweepSouth has since expanded its operations into Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, and Pretoria. The company has now expanded its services to Kenya – their second country.
According to Citywire post, Amrish Narrandes, Head of unlisted equity transactions, Futuregrowth, “The company has taken a large segment of the informal sector, which is one of the biggest employers in South Africa, and formalized it, giving people protection and security in their working environments.”
Futuregrowth had earlier made an investment into Lifecheq, a digital private wealth management business. The fund aspires to make investments into ventures that can deliver a CPI + 10% benchmark return.
