3C Coding School has closed a $3 million seed round led by MRG Economic Group, with investor Amr Saad and a group of angels joining. Two things get the money: a Saudi Arabia launch and an AI-powered personalised learning platform.
Hossam Hosny and Ahmed Khallaf started the company in 2015, teaching coding, technology and AI to children and young people. The catalogue is broad for a kids’ school: web and mobile development, data science, machine learning, game development, cybersecurity. Teaching runs project-first, built around problem-solving and reasoning rather than syntax drills.
The traction numbers are the reason the round happened. More than 120,000 students taught, and 230% revenue growth.
Saudi Arabia is the first stop outside Egypt. The Kingdom is spending heavily on digital skills and workforce development, and Egyptian operators have been using it as the door into the wider Gulf. 3C plans to go in with local partners rather than build cold.
