Stellantis-backed automotive group expands its leadership team as it accelerates growth in used-car sales, electric mobility, vehicle maintenance and spare parts across five African markets.
AUTO24.africa, the pan-African used-car retailer backed by Stellantis, has promoted Pierre Jégou to Chief Operating Officer (COO), reinforcing its executive leadership as the company strengthens operations across Africa.
Jégou will oversee day-to-day operations and commercial performance in Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal and South Africa. He will work alongside Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Axel Peyriere, who will continue leading the group’s strategy, partnerships and capital development.
The appointment follows two years of operational involvement at AUTO24.africa, where Jégou has worked to improve commercial performance and strengthen processes across the company’s five markets.
Pierre Jégou Takes on Expanded Leadership Responsibilities
Jégou joined AUTO24.africa in August 2024 as Commercial Performance Manager. Since then, he has collaborated with country managers to improve sales execution, streamline business processes and support operational growth.
He has also contributed to the development of EV24.africa, the group’s electric-vehicle marketplace.
Before joining AUTO24.africa, Jégou accumulated nearly a decade of professional experience in Côte d’Ivoire, including positions in automotive financing, retail and commercial real estate.
He previously served as Country Manager for Autochek in Côte d’Ivoire, where he was responsible for launching operations before moving into strategic partnerships. His earlier career included purchasing and business development roles at Carrefour within CFAO, as well as an Area Manager position at Regus in Abidjan.
According to Axel Peyriere, Jégou’s promotion formalises responsibilities he has progressively assumed while working with the company’s regional teams.
The leadership changes also follow the appointment of François-Hugues d’Aillières as Group Chief Financial Officer in August 2025.
D’Aillières previously worked at Jumia Group, including as CFO East Africa, and subsequently served as CFO Austral at GreenYellow.
AUTO24.africa Strengthens Its Presence in Five African Countries
AUTO24.africa launched its automotive retail operations in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, in September 2022, coinciding with Stellantis’ investment in parent company Africar Group.
The company expanded into Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal and South Africa in 2023, establishing a presence across North, West, East and Southern Africa.
Its main business involves purchasing, reconditioning and selling certified used vehicles through physical dealerships and online platforms.
According to the company, used-car retail accounts for approximately 90% of its business activity, while its workforce exceeds 220 employees across its operating markets and support teams.
The group aims to improve vehicle sourcing, accelerate inventory turnover and deliver a consistent customer experience across its regional operations.
Expanding Beyond Used Cars into Electric Mobility and Automotive Services
Alongside its used-car retail operations, AUTO24.africa is developing complementary automotive businesses covering electric mobility, maintenance and spare parts.
Through EV24.africa, the group operates an electric-vehicle marketplace serving customers across the continent.
According to the company’s announcement, EV24.africa has delivered electric vehicles to customers in more than 20 African countries and receives hundreds of enquiries each week from across all 54 African nations.
Its product offering is expanding beyond passenger cars to include electric two- and three-wheelers, including the Fiat Tris in collaboration with Stellantis.
The group also operates MEKA24, a vehicle maintenance and repair business serving private customers and fleet operators in Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and South Africa.
Meanwhile, PARTS24 provides an online marketplace for automotive spare parts, with more than 50,000 references available in Morocco, according to the group.
PARTS24 also collaborates with Stellantis’ circular-economy business, SUSTAINera, whose vehicle dismantling centre in Casablanca opened in May 2026.
The company has announced plans to extend PARTS24 into Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire during the final quarter of 2026.
These businesses form part of the group’s strategy to offer services throughout the vehicle ownership lifecycle, from purchasing and financing to maintenance, parts replacement and electric mobility.
Operational Efficiency at the Centre of the Growth Strategy
As the company’s new COO, Jégou will focus on strengthening operational efficiency, improving vehicle procurement and ensuring consistent service delivery across the five markets.
The leadership structure will allow CEO Axel Peyriere to concentrate on broader strategic priorities while Jégou manages commercial execution and daily operations.
His appointment comes as AUTO24.africa seeks to consolidate its position in the African automotive sector through a combination of physical retail operations, digital marketplaces and complementary automotive services.
With Stellantis as a shareholder, an expanded executive team and operations spanning five African countries, AUTO24.africa is continuing to develop an integrated platform designed to serve customers beyond the initial vehicle purchase.
