African entrepreneurship, innovations, and startups continue to make headlines each a day. Most of them undergo various challenges. The challenges help them to corp with both local and international startups. Most of the changes are not only positive some are even negative. Not all the business ideas prosper and many of them have started and failed within no time. Here are the headlines that took part between 19th and 20th January 2018.

Onyeka Onwenu sued iROKING. Onyeka is a popular Nigerian musician and actress. iROKING is a music distribution platform. Onyeka sued the platform for ₦205 for infringing her copyright. This came after the two had worked together, but they stopped the contract.

Nigerian Post of Sales (PoS) transactions went up to more than ₦1.41 trillion in 2017. This was a significant 85.75% rise from the ₦0.758 trillion collected in 2016. This was good news for Nigerian economy improvement. It shows that the Nigerian producers are making significant sales more than expected. To increase the PoS by 85.75% shows that a lot of work was done to realize that.

SureRemit is a Nigerian based noncash remittance platform. It announced that it had raised $7 million through an initial coin offering (ICO). On the other hand, Visa appointed its new regional president. The president will be in charge of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) region. Andrew Torre is the new regional president of the firm based in Dubai.

Techpoint Build will take place in Lagos on 27th January 2018. That the biggest even in Lagos. This will give businesses a chance to meet investors. It will also be an opportunity to get legal, technical and marketing advice for free. Startups and businesses should apply to take part in the event.
