ITIDA and its affiliate TIEC participated in the seventh edition of the Techni Summit 2021 – a platform that supports tech and tech-driven initiatives operating across the Mediterranean. The event took place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Techne Summit founder Tarek Al-Qadi moderated a fireside chat with Eng. Amr Mahfouz, the CEO ITIDA on “Enhancing investment Appeal in Egypt Tech Startup” during the opener. During that talk, he mentioned how Egyptian startups have successfully attracted investments valued at over $400 million since 2021, reflecting the increased confidence and appeal of investors in the solutions of Egyptian entrepreneurs and technological innovations.

Mahfouz further pointed out that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and its affiliates will continue to support innovation-based entrepreneurship that strongly supports startup companies as they seek to set up a digital innovation hub in each governate where all forms of support and specialized training is available i.e technology labs,  electronics design, embedded systems,  business incubators, and co-working spaces.

ITIDA CEO pointed out that the body would bring global matchmaking events between investors and startup founders, in addition to supporting them in international exhibitions like WebSummit” held in Portugal and “CES” held in Las Vegas. The intent is to promote homegrown innovative and tech-driven solutions by increasing their chances of inculcating significant partnerships that penetrate foreign markets.

ITIDA has come up with a five-year strategy in partnership with a global consulting firm to enhance Egypt’s local and international experience.
