TechInAfrica – The second edition of Kinshasa Digital Week (KDW) will be hosted for two days starting from April 12 to 13, 2019. The annual event will gather local and international technological innovations and decision-makers under the theme of Pan-African ambition.

Last year, the KDW went with the theme of business opportunities in the tech sector, and digital marketing. Meanwhile, in the second edition of KDW held this year, it will focus more on Pan-Africa innovations featured with a full conference program with key thought leaders in the space and grand public exposition area.

On April 12, there will be a B2B day featuring the Democratic Republic of the Congo as well as Africa’s leading decision-makers, corporates, influencers, and thought leaders. They will involve in a panel of discussions as well as workshops on various topics including public digital transformation, digital financial inclusion, big data, and health.

Meanwhile, on April 13, the KDW 2019 will welcome over 2,000 startups, developers, as well as students. They will be given a chance to witness the best innovation and Pan-African startups. Special for this program called grand public day, it will be held in collaboration with CMCT and Congolia.

Kinshasa Digital in partnership with Internews and the Ministry of Health has previously held a hackathon under the theme of Ebola. The event was held on March 2nd and 3rd at the Bilembo cultural space. It opened its registration and the winning team of the program will be announced at KDW 2019 on Grand Public Day hosted on April 13.

For the second edition of KDW, Kinshasa Digital is attempting to scale up the annual gathering in order to improve the profile of Kinshasa’s tech sector at a Pan-African level and beyond.

In terms of the partnership, KDW 2019 is supported by international media partners, including Forbes Afrique, RFI, France 24, Canal+, BBC, Actualite.CD, and Mediacongo.
