TechInAfrica – For fans of Nintendo Switch Lite’s special edition, the company has great news for you with the launch of its latest console to the SA market last week.

Nintendo Switch Lite has added a new family to its edition, now available on sale from Friday (8/11) in South Africa. Along with the three colors (grey, yellow, blue) console, the special edition console is embedded with Pokémon iconography and goes with the name Zacian & Zamazentra Edition. With a white body, light blue and, light pink colored buttons, the overall look of the console is distinctive compared to other Switch Lite. The two Pokémon are illustrated on the back part of the console, representing the Sword and Shield games respectively.

Price-wise, it’s sold on R3 999, which is not any pricier than the regular console despite the uniqueness of the console illustrative design featuring the Pokémon. Another thing to note for potential consumers is that it does not provide a pre-installed Sword and Shield game even though the console uses the game branding. In other words, you will still have to pay to get a copy of the game, which is the reverse to the previous edition of Pikachu & Eevee of the original Switch, that aside from having a pricier tag, also came with pre-installed Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! And Let’s Go, Eevee! with an additional bundle of Poké Ball Plus.

Some people have pre-ordered the Zacian & Zamazentra Edition and it should be by their door on the day it officially launched in SA. Many early reviews and unboxings are up on the internet, so potential buyers like you can ponder a little bit before cashing out your savings. Although there’s no exact date yet of when the new special edition console will remain on the market, you can still get the previous Pikachu & Eevee Edition.
