Agritech Startup MazaoHub Raises $2M Pre-Seed to Scale AI-Driven, Climate-Smart Farming in Tanzania

Mazohub a Tanzania-based agritech venture, has secured USD 2 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round, backing its mission to expand AI-powered soil intelligence and agronomic support for smallholder farmers.

The raise includes USD 1.5 million equity (led by Catalyst Fund) and USD 500,000 non-dilutive capital from the Livelihood Impact Fund, with investors such as Nordic Impact Fund, Mercy Corps Ventures, elea Foundation, Impacc, and DOB Equity participating.

MazaoHub’s “Tech and Touch” model combines soil sensors, AI insights, and Farmer Excellence Centres, reducing fertilizer use by 30%, boosting organic manure adoption five-fold, and improving irrigation efficiency and market access.

With this funding, MazaoHub will:

  • Scale low-cost soil kits and sensors 
  • Expand its farmer centre network 
  • Grow CropSupply.com to improve market linkages 

The startup aims to support 500,000 farmers across Tanzania, advancing sustainable agriculture and food security.
