EV24.africa, a top platform for sourcing and delivering electric vehicles across Africa, has entered into a strategic partnership with ZEMIA (Zambia Electric Mobility Initiative Association), an organization dedicated to advancing electric mobility in Zambia, to speed up the adoption of electric vehicles and sustainable transportation solutions nationwide.
The collaboration marks a significant step in Zambia’s shift toward clean, cost effective, and scalable electric transport. Through the integration of EV24.africa’s Africa wide vehicle sourcing and delivery network with ZEMIA’s leadership within the local ecosystem, policy involvement, and stakeholder alignment, the partnership seeks to expand access to electric vehicles for fleets, businesses, public sector bodies, and private consumers throughout Zambia.
Zambia is increasingly positioning itself as a key market for electric mobility in Southern Africa, supported by higher fuel costs, rapid urban growth, and expanding demand for sustainable transportation options. In addition, the country’s comparatively clean electricity supply, largely powered by hydropower, enhances the environmental benefits of transport electrification by enabling meaningful reductions in emissions.
Despite this potential, adoption has been constrained by limited availability of electric vehicles, underdeveloped supply chains, and fragmentation across the ecosystem.
The partnership between EV24.africa and ZEMIA tackles these barriers by establishing a coordinated, end to end electric mobility framework that covers vehicle sourcing and importation, fleet rollout, ecosystem building, and engagement with policy stakeholders.
EV24.africa will provide a diverse portfolio of electric vehicles through its global and pan African sourcing network, spanning passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses, and fleet offerings. The platform will also handle logistics, customs processes, and nationwide delivery, delivering a turnkey solution tailored to corporate and institutional customers.
ZEMIA will draw on its institutional mandate, policy advocacy efforts, and local partnerships to drive market awareness, coordinate stakeholder engagement, promote fleet adoption programs, and facilitate collaboration with regulators, utilities, and private sector stakeholders.
Together, the partners will focus on key sectors including ride hailing, logistics, corporate fleets, public institutions, and infrastructure developers, helping them lower operating costs, cut carbon emissions, and modernize their mobility systems.
“Zambia represents a crucial market for EV24 in Southern Africa. Our partnership with ZEMIA enables us to fast track our entry with a trusted local institutional partner and provide comprehensive electric mobility solutions for both fleets and individual consumers,” said Younes Rabeh, Business Development Manager at EV24.africa.
“Our partnership with EV24.africa reinforces our commitment to advancing electric mobility and sustainable transport in Zambia. By merging EV24’s sourcing capabilities with our leadership within the local ecosystem, we aim to drive faster adoption and establish a solid foundation for the country’s electric mobility future,” said Kabayo Muhau, President of the ZEMIA Association.
“Africa is entering a pivotal decade for electric mobility, with Zambia playing a central role in this shift. Through EV24, we are establishing the supply chains, partnerships, and operational frameworks required to make electric vehicles accessible and affordable continent wide. Our collaboration with ZEMIA represents a strategic move to expand electric mobility in Southern Africa and advance Africa’s wider energy transition,” said Axel Peyriere, CEO and Co Founder of AUTO24.africa and EV24.africa.
Promoting Affordable and Sustainable Transportation
Electric vehicles provide substantial savings on fuel and maintenance compared to conventional internal combustion vehicles, making them particularly appealing in African markets where fuel prices are unpredictable and operational efficiency is essential for businesses.
The partnership seeks to assist Zambian businesses and consumers in lowering transport costs, enhancing energy resilience, and contributing to national sustainability and climate goals. It also creates opportunities for local value generation in areas such as charging infrastructure, fleet services, and digital mobility platforms.
By fast tracking EV adoption, EV24.africa and ZEMIA aim to establish Zambia as a regional leader in electric mobility within Southern Africa and a benchmark for scalable transport electrification across the continent.
