The Solution Innovation District (SID), operated by the Anambra State Government, and Dhahran Techno Valley Holding Company (DTVC), a Saudi Arabia-based science and technology hub, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), according to a statement released on Saturday by Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor.
The agreement was signed during an innovation engagement in Beijing, according to the statement.
Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate in several areas, according to the statement:
Startup and venture acceleration through joint accelerator programmes and venture-building initiatives in sectors including energy, sustainability, and emerging technologies.
Development of frameworks to co-invest in startups and technologies, according to the agreement.
Knowledge sharing and industry collaboration through the exchange of expertise and best practices between research institutions and technology firms.
Creation of networking and collaboration platforms connecting startups, investors, researchers, and industry leaders.
Co-hosting of international summits, workshops, and business-to-business meetings, according to the MoU.
SID is an initiative of the Anambra State Government dedicated to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization, according to the statement. The district works with startups, researchers and industry leaders, according to its description.
DTVC, based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a science and technology hub focused on research and development collaboration, technology commercialization and industry partnerships, according to the statement.
Chinwe Okoli, Chief Executive Officer of SID and Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Innovation and Business Incubation, stated: “This collaboration represents a major milestone for Anambra State and Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem. Our partnership with DTVC reflects SID’s commitment to building strong international linkages that accelerate technology development, commercialisation, and sustainable growth.”
Mohammed Abusharifah, Chief Executive Officer of DTVC, stated: “Our partnership with SID will create a bridge for an increase in the flow of talent, expertise, and investments between our two innovation hubs.”
The statement added: “This MoU underscores the shared vision of both parties to foster innovation ecosystems that not only benefit their local communities but also contribute to global knowledge exchange and economic advancement.
