CMC Networks recently introduced its Air Connect solution, which provides wireless connectivity to businesses throughout South Africa. This Wireless to the Business (WTTB) solution offers dependable, high-speed connectivity and ensures business continuity, even in some of the most demanding environments globally.

Providing wireless connectivity

Air Connect provides dependable connectivity throughout diverse South African landscapes, including remote areas and challenging terrain, by harnessing radio waves. This wireless solution eliminates the costs and logistical hurdles associated with wired connections such as fiber, offering adaptable speeds ranging from 5Mbps to 500Mbps+ to accommodate a wide range of business requirements.

Marisa Trisolino, CEO at CMC Networks, expressed great enthusiasm for Air Connect, describing it as a significant innovation for their customers in South Africa. She emphasized the company’s commitment to driving digital advancement across Africa and highlighted Air Connect’s role in achieving this goal. Trisolino noted that the solution offers a wider range of connectivity options, enabling customers to enhance network redundancy and ensure uninterrupted business operations.

With a service level objective (SLO) ranging from 3 to 10 days, Air Connect offers swift installation, catering to customers anticipating a fiber build. It serves as a rapid temporary deployment to minimize network downtime and can serve as an active backup following fiber rollouts in a software-defined wide-area network (SD-WAN) overlay deployment. This enhances network resilience, redundancy, and uptime.

Geoff Dornan, the Chief Technology Officer at CMC Networks, underscored Air Connect’s impressive scalability, tailored to meet the unique business needs of customers. He emphasized its swift installation, high-speed connectivity, enhanced network uptime, and unwavering reliability. Dornan also highlighted the company’s dedication to expanding its portfolio to adapt to evolving customer requirements, ensuring seamless achievement of business objectives without connectivity-related delays.

With a rich history of over 30 years of innovation in Africa, CMC Networks proudly operates the largest pan-African network, providing services in 51 out of 54 African countries and 12 countries in the Middle East. Moreover, the company has established regional hubs in strategic interconnect locations across Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region.
