Doxper Startup Gets a Funding of $1.9 Million

Doxper is an app that is operated by InformDS Technologies Pvt Ltd Company. The startup was founded by Pawan Jain, Randeep Singh, and Shailesh Prithani. Prithani is a graduate of IIT Roorkee and once worked with Schlumberger Limited, an oilfield service company.  Singh and Jain are alumni of IIT Bombay. Jain previously worked with Visible Alpha, a financial research company and SnapStick Inc, an online content solution firm. Singh worked with Philips Research as a scientist and also held the post of a director of the biomedical informatics division at SAP Labs.

Doxper app assists doctors to have well-maintained patients’ records.  The firm has come up with an electronic recording system where doctors can record patients’ information and prescription. The data, later on, is transferred to the clouds automatically. Patients are in a position to get their records, share their medical reports with family and book follow-up appointments, using the app.  Furthermore, hospitals are able to digitize their records using the app by harmonizing their HIS system.

The startup is now serving more than 800 doctors and clinical officers across South Africa. Recently, Doxper secured $1.1 million in a pre-Series A round of funding from different investors. According to a statement from the firm, the funding round was led by Vidal Healthcare. It plans to use the funds in expanding its service delivery in new geographical locations. Moreover, it plans to use it in increasing its development and research expenditure for new products in analytics, real-time interoperability, and patient engagement. The company is currently piloting its product in Nigeria and Bangladesh. It is also engaging with partners in Brazil, Southeast Asia, UK, South Africa and the UK where it plans to put up its operations in early 2019.  The company has clients in Mumbai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Delhi/NCR and Pune in India. It has managed to sign up three largest private hospitals in India Delhi and Mumbai. It has also signed one big pan-Indian huge specialty chain for complete outpatient department (OPD) digitization.

Doxper also secured $750,000 in a seed round of investment eight months ago. The round was led by GroX Ventures and Vidal Healthcare. Other participants were Capier Investments, Globevestor and various angel investors who include onco-surgeon. The startup has managed to raise a combined investment of $1.9 million at the time of this publication. There are several deals that have taken place in health-tech in the recent past. For instance, LetsMD, a fintech company in the health sector secured $1 million in a pre-Series A funding round early April. The participants of that round were ThinkKuvate, Waterbridge Ventures, and capital firm based in Singapore. BeatO a management app based in Delhi also secured $1.3 million which was led by Leo Capital and Blume Ventures.  Other startups that obtained funding include; Karma Primary Healthcare Services Pvt Ltd based in Rajasthan, LiveHealth based in Pune and Health Assure.
