Enza Raises $6M to Expand Payments Infrastructure Across African Markets

African payments infrastructure provider Enza has raised $6 million in a Seed+ funding round led by 4DX Ventures to accelerate its expansion into new markets and strengthen digital payment services for banks and financial technology companies across the continent.

The investment attracted British International Investment (BII), the United Kingdom’s development finance institution, as a new investor.

Existing investors Quona Capital and Algebra Ventures, which jointly led Enza’s seed funding round in 2025, also increased their financial commitments to the company.

Enza provides payment technology that enables banks and fintech companies to modernise their operations, manage multiple payment channels and improve transaction processing through a unified infrastructure platform.

The company’s solutions allow financial institutions to upgrade their payment capabilities while retaining control over their merchant relationships and business data.

Its technology addresses challenges associated with outdated payment infrastructure, particularly as consumers and businesses increasingly adopt different digital transaction methods.

While payment services across Africa have expanded beyond traditional card-based transactions, some financial institutions continue to depend on systems that can be expensive and difficult to modernise.

Enza aims to address these limitations by providing technology that supports more efficient payment processing and allows banks to introduce new services without rebuilding their entire infrastructure.

The newly secured capital will support expansion into additional African countries, particularly markets where payment digitisation represents a major economic opportunity and national development priority.

Group Chief Executive Officer Hany Fekry said the participation of both existing and new investors demonstrated confidence in the company’s progress and its ability to support financial institutions across Africa.

Daniel Marlo, managing partner at 4DX Ventures, highlighted the growing gap between modern payment requirements and existing banking infrastructure, describing Enza’s technology as a solution to an important industry challenge.

British International Investment also emphasised the potential of modern payment infrastructure to reduce transaction costs, improve access to financial services and support small and medium-sized businesses.

The investment strengthens Enza’s financial position as it seeks to expand its geographical footprint and deepen its relationships with financial institutions.

With fresh investor backing, the company plans to continue developing payment infrastructure that supports the transition towards more accessible and efficient digital financial services across African markets.
