FirstBank Nigeria Ltd was established in 1894.  The bank recently declared the interest to sponsor the 2018 Social Media Week (SMW) Lagos scheduled to take place between 26th Feb and 1st  March 2018. The event will focus on technological advancement in Africa.

According to the Folake Ani-Mumuney, the bank’s Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, the bank celebrate 3rd sponsorship programme.She added that the bank will ensure activation of its digital lounge during the event.  The move will create an opportunity for attendees to access the company services and digital products directly. She noted that the bank will also host an App Fair throughout the event.

The strategy will give Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) technology entrepreneurs a chance to display their apps. Additionally, the event will conduct games with different prizes for all participants. The prizes comprise of iPhone X, cash, power banks, smart bracelets, and airtimes. Furthermore, interested participants will have the privilege of joining the First Bank Expression on Cards initiatives. The plan will enable participants to obtain customized cards at the event premises.

Ani-Mumuney also emphasized that the bank will conduct a panel session during the event. The main aim of the session will be to deliberate on the theme “Financial Inclusion: Banking the Unbanked”.  She concluded that the bank will use the opportunity provided by the social media to its performance.  For instance, the bank converts the opportunities to deliver seamless banking services, delightful customer experience and deploy the cutting-edge technology.

The social media platforms usually create global community by connecting people worldwide.
