Kershen Pillay, the Natal entrepreneur, will pitch at the 7th Oliver Top Empowerment Awards. The event attracts most innovative entrepreneurs in South Africa. It will take place next week in Johannesburg. Kershen Pillay who is the CEO of Masifunde Training Centre (MTC) is currently 31 years old. He secured two categories nominations the Top Empowered Entrepreneur of the Year award. The other category is the Top Empowered Business Leader of the Year award. It is now two consecutive years in a row for Kershen to be named a finalist in Oliver Top Empowerment Awards. The panelists have noticed his remarkable contribution to the financial industry education. Last year, he got the Top Performing Entrepreneur and Fast Growth Trophy nominations.

Mr. Pillay’s success originated from his passion and vision in the edtech sector. He sidelined his medical career in to pursue his financial services passion. The vision was the provision of quality financial services education to the vulnerable people. At the age of 27 years, he took became the CEO of Masifunde Training Centre. The institution is one of the credited financial education providers in South Africa. It provides training to the financial companies, large corporate and banking institutions. He noted that business services provide the greatest opportunity in the region. He added that the institution changes lives of many people in South Africa.
