KPMG Launches 2026 Search for Africa’s Next Leading Technology Innovator

Applications are now open for the 2026 KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator competition, giving technology entrepreneurs from South Africa and across Africa the opportunity to compete for a place at the global finals in Lisbon, Portugal.

Now in its sixth edition, the competition is open to qualifying startups and scale ups from 13 KPMG One Africa member countries spanning Southern, East, and West Africa. Applications will remain open until 2 August 2026.

Participants will first compete in national and regional stages, with successful finalists advancing to the global competition to pitch their businesses alongside technology startups from across the world.

KPMG said applications will be evaluated by a panel of industry experts based on innovation, entrepreneurial capability, growth potential, customer focus, and risk awareness.

KPMG stated that the competition aims to increase visibility for technology companies by connecting them with investors, business leaders, and potential partners while highlighting African innovation to a global audience.

“Africa continues to produce exceptional entrepreneurs who are addressing complex challenges through innovation and technology,” said Sandeep Main, Africa head of private enterprise at KPMG.

“The Global Tech Innovator competition offers these companies a valuable platform to present their solutions, establish meaningful connections, and gain visibility among investors, industry leaders, and potential partners worldwide.”

The successful entrant will be awarded the title of KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator 2026.
