Tanmiya Capital Raises $130 Million for Second Fund to Support Growing Egyptian Businesses

Egyptian private equity firm Tanmiya Capital Ventures has announced the final close of its second investment fund, Tanmiya Capital Fund II, at $130 million, exceeding its initial fundraising target of $120 million.

The fund received significant backing from the European Investment Bank (EIB), which committed $37.5 million through EIB Global, its development finance arm.

Other investors include the Egyptian-American Enterprise Fund, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Finance Corporation, and Egypt’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency.

The investment was formally announced during a ceremony in Cairo on October 26, 2026, attended by EIB Vice-President Gelsomina Vigliotti and Tanmiya Capital Ventures’ managing partners Ahmed El Guindy, Youssef Ahmed Ayoub, and Mohamed Mohsen Mahgoub.

Established in 2016, Tanmiya Capital Ventures focuses on providing growth capital to established Egyptian businesses seeking to expand their operations, improve corporate governance, and strengthen operational performance.

The newly closed fund will target high-growth companies operating in sectors including healthcare, financial technology, consumer goods, education and training, logistics, and transportation.

Tanmiya expects the investment vehicle to support approximately six to eight portfolio companies while contributing to employment creation and private sector development across Egypt.

The fund also incorporates social inclusion objectives, with at least 30% of portfolio companies expected to meet one or more of the EIB’s gender equality financing criteria.

As part of the partnership, the EIB will participate in the fund’s advisory committee, providing expertise in corporate governance, environmental responsibility, and sustainable investment practices.

Tanmiya Capital Managing Partner Ahmed El Guindy described the successful fundraising as evidence of investor confidence in Egypt’s private sector and the firm’s investment strategy.

Meanwhile, the EIB highlighted the fund’s potential to help Egyptian businesses access growth capital and develop stronger international commercial relationships.

The investment also aligns with the European Union’s Global Gateway initiative, which supports sustainable infrastructure, private sector development, and economic cooperation across emerging markets.

For Egyptian businesses seeking expansion capital, the fund represents an additional source of institutional financing beyond traditional bank lending.

Its successful closing highlights continued institutional interest in established Egyptian companies with opportunities for operational expansion, job creation, and long-term growth.
