Kenya’s Sendy Startup Receives $2 Million from CFAO Group and DOB Equity

Sendy, an on-demand logistic company operating in Kenya began its operation in 2014. Recently, it received $2 million funding from CFAO Group and DOB Equity for expansion of its services. Therefore, the company intends to expand their area coverage, sales, and technology team, and add more vehicles. Moreover, they also prepare for future expansion.

The company allows customers to place orders for their courier services over mobile phones. Furthermore, it receives support from Safaricom for its operations. Currently, Sendy has established its services in Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nairobi. The company also plans to offer their services in other Kenyan towns.

Sendy allows customers to buy a variety of automobiles ranging from Motorcycles to trucks. Besides, the company intends to expand their services to other cities in East Africa by the end of 2018.

According to the latest data from Sendy, it serves 4000 businesses and approximately 50,000 customers in Kenya.

According to the CEO of Sendy, Meshack Alloys, they identified a gap in logistic services hence prompting them to begin the business. Through it all, Sendy has provided high-quality and pocket-friendly services with the help of their Drive Partners. The support that CFAO and DOB Equity has offered will facilitate the growth of the company.

CFAO  is a multinational company owned by Toyota Tsusho Corporation since October 2017.
