16 finalists make it to the 2021 VC4A Venture Showcase

VC4A has selected 16 countries for the VC4A Venture Showcase (Seed and Series A). In 2021, the portfolio companies are vetted by VC investors through a rigorous referral and selection process representing the best Seed and Serie A investments. Companies selected demonstrated strong revenues and held a competitive edge. Most are well positioned for regional and international expansion while working on innovations in transport, healthcare, finance, commerce, and education.

Select founders will showcase their businesses to investors at the  Africa Early Stage Investor Summit on 4-5 November 2021. This is a signature industry event organized by VC4A operating as a partner of the  African Business Angels Network (ABAN). All rounds range between $400K and $20M and investors get special access to the startups at the AESIS DealRooms organized a week after the summit.

Since 2017, the portfolio companies showcased have raised over $160M in venture capital. Startups for the Serie A shortlist are Alpha Direct Insurtech, Arifu, Chari Co, Cinetpay, CloudFret, Fatura Rology, and Youverify Inc. (Youcheck Online Services Limited). Other startups in the seed portfolio are Appload, CashBackApp, FlexPay, Moja RideOneport INC, SAYNA, ShipBlu, and Waya Limited.

Over the next 6 weeks, the chosen startups will take part in a virtual investor readiness program looking to fundraise for #AESIS2021. The workshops are led by Aaron Fu (Catalytic Fund), Aniko Szigetvari (Atlantica Ventures), Gregoire de Padirac (Orange Ventures), and Andrea Bohmert (Knife Capital). Occasionally, other high-profile guests sessions will take part.
