TechInAfrica ā Three South African startups were selected to pitch their solutions at theĀ Stanford Africa Business Forum that took place in Stanford, California, USA this Saturday, April 20. It was the twelfth edition of the forum and organized by the Africa Business Club. The forum aimed at discussing and identifying new approaches to drive growth on the continent.
The six startups that participated in the forum were ENVision Mobile, ScholarX from Nigeria, MobiPay AgroSys from Uganda, Pineapple, LĆLAĀ andĀ Vollar from South Africa.

These six startups got selected because they met the criteria set by the organizers, including:
- Startups that operating in Africa
- Have less than 40 employees
- Must have made a social impact(s)
- Have raised some funding
These startups pitched their solutions to a panel of judges which included HSBC Venture Capitalās Managing Director, Oreoluwa Adeyemi; LoftyInc Capital Managementās Founding Director, Marsha Wulff; Tlcomās Founding and Managing Partner, Maurizio Caio; Pact Venturesā Manager of Social Investment and Alternative Finance, Katherine Fackler; Boston Consulting Group (BCG)ās Senior Advisor, Nyimpini Mabunda; and Pagaās CEO and Founder, Tayo Oviousu.
Meanwhile, keynote speakers for the forum were McKinsey Africaās Chairman, Acha Leke; Africa50ās CEO, Alain EbobissĆ©, Andela and Flutterwaveās Co-Founder, Iyin Aboyeji; and True Africaās Chairman, Claude Grunitzky.
