Afreximbank, ATDC Sign $500 Million Facility to Boost African Trade and Distribution Networks

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the Africa Trade and Distribution Company (ATDC) have entered into a US$500 million financing agreement aimed at strengthening trade and distribution systems across Africa.

The facility is expected to support the expansion of trade-related activities, improve access to markets, and enhance the movement of goods across the continent by providing financial support for key distribution and supply chain initiatives.

The partnership aligns with efforts to increase intra-African trade and address challenges affecting the continent’s commercial networks, including limited access to trade finance, logistics constraints, and fragmented distribution channels.

Afreximbank has continued to focus on financing projects that promote African trade integration and support businesses involved in cross-border commerce. The bank’s initiatives include providing trade finance, supporting industrial development, and facilitating trade under continental frameworks.

Through the agreement with ATDC, the two organisations aim to create stronger links between producers, distributors, and markets, helping businesses scale operations and participate more effectively in regional and international trade.

The US$500 million facility represents a significant investment in building a more connected African trade ecosystem and supporting economic growth through improved distribution infrastructure.
