Glovo: The Food Delivery Company Making Waves

Share

Glovo is a meal delivery and courier app that debuted on the Nigerian market in July of 2017. It provides customers with the convenience of ordering food, groceries, and other items & more from some of their most beloved neighbourhood hotspots, chain eateries, and fine dining establishments located inside their city.

The app is getting increasingly popular and is now available in Ikoyi, VI, Lekki, Yaba, Surulere, Ilupeju, Abuja, and Ibadan. It is quickly spreading to new places all over the country.

We were curious about the fuss, so we decided to give the app our review. Our attention was on these two critical points: The sellers who can use the platform. Two, how fast it gets there and how reliable it is.

After looking at the platform, here are the things we think make Glovo a new but strong competitor in the world of food delivery and courier services: To begin, one of the first things that stood out to us about Glovo’s platform was how inclusive it is of both local vendors as well as more well-known fast food franchises and upscale eating establishments.

This is a nice addition to the food delivery space because, unlike other food delivery apps, which only focus on popular fast-food places and food vendors, Glovo has something for every food lover, whether you want a plate of hot efo riro from Iya Ibadan’s pot or a Filet Mignon.

Number two, delivery that is optimized

Glovo’s platform is based on the promise that every customer’s order will be delivered as soon as possible. Jarvis, the name of the robot that appears in the movie Iron Man, inspired the development of a unique algorithm that drives Glovo.

The algorithm gives orders to couriers smartly, starting with grouping orders together so they can all be delivered in one trip.

Jarvis considers several things to find the best courier for each job. The courier’s current location, its distance from the pickup point and the delivery point, the order preparation time, traffic, and other real-time conditions.

They don’t like long waits, especially when they are waiting for a hot bowl of pepper soup or a steaming plate of Akara balls. Additionally, with Glovo, you can monitor the progression of your delivery in real-time via the mobile app at any point from the beginning to the end of the process.

Another great thing about the Glovo app is that the delivery fee is only N250, which is a very low price.

Third, more than just food delivery.

The extensive selection of goods that users may buy and have delivered from the Glovo platform is a further factor that adds to the appeal of the Glovo app. Glovo is an awesome place where you can do your weekly grocery shopping. Everyday items like dairy products, breakfast cereals, bathroom supplies, and even medicines can all be found on the app at reasonable prices.

Using the Glovo app to shop for groceries can save up to thirty per cent compared to purchasing the same items at a conventional grocery store. This is excellent news when we consider the nation’s rapidly increasing cost of living.

In addition to food delivery, the Glovo platform is also an on-demand delivery platform. You can use the app to shop for drugs, groceries, and drinks, among other things.
