TechInAfrica — MAN Impact Accelerator has accepted two African startups into its third cohort.

Besides Arone, Nigeria’s automaton startup, Uganda’s electric motorbikes provider, Zembo, is also selected. Arone and Zembo are among the eight of the most encouraging and inventive social business new companies from Europe, Brazil, and Africa chosen for the MAN Impact Accelerator’s this year’s cohort.

The eight participants beat around 300 companies from over 40 regions that presented their applications to be a part of the accelerator program.

Zembo provides moderate electric cruisers to bike taxis in Africa. They collect and rent sun powered controlled cruisers on a compensation as-you-go model with the plausibility of owning the benefit after two years.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Arone offers Africa’s greatest airborne coordinations foundation for social insurance. By utilizing strong automatons, they can give a sharp, reasonable, and dependable carriage of blood and medicinal supplies to the most remote towns in less than 15 minutes. Zipline has been doing this for a while now in Rwanda and Tanzania and as of late extended to cover Nigeria and Ghana.

The six remaining startups that were selected include Suma, Eu Vo, and Nina from Brazil, Koiki from Spain, Addressya from Sweden, and XYT from France.

The accelerator program will include stops in various cities. In week one in November, the program will stop in Munich. Week two in January will be held in São Paulo, Brazil, before moving onto Johannesburg in March for week three. Week four will be held in Lisbon, Portugal. The accelerator program will end with a closing week back in Munich in June.

Arunima Singh, accelerator program lead from Yunus Social Business said that the founders who have been selected to be a part of the MAN Impact Accelerator comprise an opportunity to benefit the power of business to impact people’s lives in many different geographies.

“At Yunus Social Business, we believe in the power of business to end poverty. A social business is a for-profit company with a social mission at its core 100% dedicated to solving human problems,” Singh said.
