Wise Move, a start-up based in South Africa, is preparing to shake up the transportation industry with the launch of a brand-new platform. After being developed for many years, it is now through a period of fast expansion and processing hundreds of movements.

The  Startup is not only being widely adopted, but it is also attracting thousands of users to its website. Over 30 000 users used the service in September alone, and thousands more are signing up.

The South African moving industry has expanded rapidly in recent years. This is due to increased demand for moving companies and services as people relocate across the country following the lockdown.

However, moving can be complicated, and it can be considerably more difficult in a nation where the number of road accidents exceeds 800,000 per year and where “stealing out of a motor vehicle” is classified as one of the top 10 most common crimes.

Wise Move was created in response to popular demand. It provides a simple, hassle-free way to book and manage moves with reputable local movers from a single platform.

There are a lot of moving companies out there. Still, Gediminas Burinskis, the founder and CEO of Wise Move, says that getting quotes and making reservations is often complicated and confusing. “We wanted to make a platform that would make the whole process easier and more efficient while building trust in the industry.”

When asked about the early success of the start-up, Burinskis adds that in the past, obtaining moving quotations from several different businesses has been a procedure that is both time-consuming and frustrating. It is notoriously difficult to get quotes by calling, the websites are poor, and they will frequently ask you to fill out extensive forms containing sensitive information.

There is also no way to see how prices are set, so it is impossible to know if you are getting a fair price. It’s even harder to find reviews you can trust.

Wise Move has come up with a clever solution to the problem. Its platform is “the first internet platform in South Africa that is one hundred percent transparent for moving companies.”

“We’ve spent a lot of time and money making sure that our platform is easy to use, and we’re always making changes based on what our users tell us,” says Burinskis.

Wise Move is happy to be paving the way for the moving industry to go digital, and it is sure that the platform will change how people book and manage moves.

Gediminas says, “We’re just getting going.” “Wise Move still has a long way to go, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we can do.”
