Telkom Pay Digital Wallet for South African

TechInAfrica– Telkom has officially launched a mobile payment solution called Telkom Pay Digital Wallet (or Telkom Pay).

Telkom Pay Digital Wallet or known as Telkom Pay, has officially launched by Telkom. This mobile payment solution comes with the expectation that it will enable users to pay others and get paid themselves using their cell phone via the WhatsApp application; to anyone on their contacts list. Not only did it allow users to pay, but Telkom Pay also represented a cashless Point of Sale (POS) payment selection for a business.

Sibusiso Ngwenya, Managing Executive for Telkom Financial Services, says that Telkom presents the Telkom Pay Digital Wallet as the financial service solutions to provide users, both consumers, and businesses easy access to pay through their mobile phone 24/7 at an affordable price. Telkom’s tool insurance has been in the market for many years.  

Telkom Pay comes to meet the demand of every Telkom’s customer in South Africa and also to contribute to the economic inclusion in the country. 

Users who are using WhatsApp can put Telkom Pay on the application, sign-up, then they can send and receive money by sharing a “Please pay me” with contact or using a cell phone number to send them money, respectively.

Transaction on Telkom Pay requires users to top up their wallets through EFT, Nedbank ATMs, or at any Pick ‘n Pay stores. To access this platform, one does not have to be a Telkom customer. 

Users only need registration and fund on their account to have a transaction through Telkom Pay. Their Telkom Pay accounts can link to any bank card to the platform.
