TechInAfrica – Working together with Zapper, Huawei has officially presented its new mobile payment service in South Africa, called Huawei Pay. 

Likun Zhao, VP at Huawei Consumer Business Group for Southern Africa, says that the company is proud to release the new mobile payment service for its customers in South Africa. 

By using Huawei Pay, users can easily add their bank card to the payment application. They can pay in stores by scanning the Zapper QR Code on the bill when they check out.

Huawei Pay accepts all local debit and credit cards from all local banks in South Africa. This payment service becomes a simple and convenient payment solution that will help every South African consumer. 

Here are five things you need to know about this new digital wallet from Huawei:

1.When utilizing Huawei Pay, each exchange must be confirmed by your password or unique mark. 

2.Huawei Pay doesn’t utilize your bank card numbers to deal with transactions. 

3.Your bank card numbers are not put away on your Huawei gadget or Huawei Pay servers. 

4.Your bank card numbers are not mutual with shippers. 

5.Your data is kept hidden, as Huawei doesn’t keep the exchange details.

To get started with Huawei Pay, simply follow these steps:

  1. Download Huawei Wallet from HUAWEI AppGallery.
  2. Load your bank cards onto the Huawei Wallet app.
  3. Go to your favorite store and have your purchases rung up at the till.
  4. Scan the Zapper QR code that appears on the bill and pay!
  5. You will receive a notification from the app that your transaction has gone through.

Huawei notes that the tap-to-pay function for Huawei Pay is not yet available in SA, however, users can expect that it will be soon.
