TechInAfrica – The African Developers Conference (AfDevCon) is set to kick off on October 18th and 19th, 2019 at UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is a collaborative event between Gebeya, [email protected], African Technology Foundation (ATF), Ethiopians In Tech (EiT), and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MinT).
AfDevCon was initiated as a response to the growing number of software engineers in Africa’s tech sector yet unable to engage in a community. With AfDevCon, it is expected to boost the engagement of African software engineers particularly in the tech scene, creating a solid entrepreneurial community of African programmers with great potential for real changes.
The event will cover various topics in the world’s digital industry, including Mobile, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud, API Economy, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), DroneTech, FinTech, Blockchain, Big Data, Enterprise Architecture, AgriTech, Gaming, Virtual Reality (VR), and EdTech.
It brings together software engineers, tech professionals, techpreneurs, Government officials, hubs representatives, STEM students, University Faculty, tech talents, and tech enthusiasts to exchange their insights on Africa’s Digital Transformation. Attendees will expect to take part in a series of workshops, demos, networking, and training sessions to enhance their knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and enrich their experiences.
