TechInAfrica – The African Developers Conference (AfDevCon) is set to kick off on October 18th and 19th, 2019 at UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is a collaborative event between Gebeya, Lions@frica, African Technology Foundation (ATF), Ethiopians In Tech (EiT), and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MinT).

AfDevCon was initiated as a response to the growing number of software engineers in Africa’s tech sector yet unable to engage in a community. With AfDevCon, it is expected to boost the engagement of African software engineers particularly in the tech scene, creating a solid entrepreneurial community of African programmers with great potential for real changes.

The event will cover various topics in the world’s digital industry, including Mobile, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud, API Economy, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), DroneTech, FinTech, Blockchain, Big Data, Enterprise Architecture, AgriTech, Gaming, Virtual Reality (VR), and EdTech.

It brings together software engineers, tech professionals, techpreneurs, Government officials, hubs representatives, STEM students, University Faculty, tech talents, and tech enthusiasts to exchange their insights on Africa’s Digital Transformation. Attendees will expect to take part in a series of workshops, demos, networking, and training sessions to enhance their knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and enrich their experiences.

To register yourself for the event, you need to reserve a ticket and pay for a certain price. Students must pay $10 (ETB 270) while regular attendees pay $20 (ETB 570). The fees cover full access to all sessions, workshops and other activities of the AfDevCon as well as lunch and coffee breaks. Payment can be made at Bole, Zimbabwe St., Sinan Commercial Building – 2nd Floor, Woreda 02, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia or by depositing the fee via Zemen Bank to Gebeya Developer As a Service with an account number 1034110000725019.
