TechInAfrica – Kenya-based Pesapal has officially become a Payment Service Provider (PSP) after the Central Bank of Kenya granted the company authorization.

This authorization for Pesapal means it can now run its Payment Gateway Services in compliance with the National Payment System (NPS) Act 2011, NPS Regulations 2014.

“We are delighted to have this authorization by the CBK. We will continue to enable payments for merchants and consumers,” said Mark Mwongela, CEO of Pesapal.

The company aims to have its payment deliver safety and convenience to customers. Currently, it operated in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, and Rwanda.
