TechInAfrica – A healthtech startup based in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Vezeeta has launched a healthcare platform for Kenyans to fast booking appointments with doctors.
The platform, which can be accessed from a mobile phone lets people search and book doctors on the app with a week full and 24 hours of medical access across 47 countries.
“As COVID-19 outbreak continues to present complex healthcare challenges to the public, we see our role and responsibility as a health-tech leader and trusted partner to ensure that the well-being and health of our patients remain uninterrupted,” Vice President of Africa Nana Frimpong said.
“As a digital healthcare giant that serves and empowers patients in every step of their healthcare journey through data and technology, we are proud to support Kenya’s Ministry’s digital economy blueprint that recognizes ICT as a key enabler for quality healthcare. We believe that through this initiative, we are supporting not only the Government of Kenya but also empowering Kenyans to make more informed decisions on their healthcare choices and improve access to doctors in general.”
The app is available on Playstore for Android users and Apple App Store for iOS users. To use the app, Kenyans have to sign up and choose the medical interest, select their region, the insurance fee, and lastly, the doctor in preference.
According to Frimpong, the app provides Kenyans the opportunity to access doctors across various disciplines on their terms.
Currently, 30 specialty interests are available in the app, such as the chest and respiratory, dentistry, dermatology, neurology, orthopedics, ENT specialty, and more. All the medical staffs are licensed doctors registered under the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
Vezeeta is available in Nigeria, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon.
