The Eco-development department at Huawei just launched the first edition of a program supporting startups across the Middle East & Africa regions. This was a one-of-a-kind initiative designed to support regional companies that have just launched mobile apps. The idea is to help them grow their user base through AppGallery – The official App distribution platform for Huawei. This gallery has over 530 million active users cut across 170 different countries.
Upon releasing their apps on AppsGallery, the startups will receive support from Huawei’s ecosystem team. This support covers the areas of technology integration while delivering the best quality for users, at no charge yet featuring placements on AppGallery and directly on Huawei devices, in an effort to boost further user acquisition.
The team at Eco-development narrowed down the 15 mobile apps to join the platform. The main selection criteria were the Middle East and Africa-based applications. Mobile apps on sports, transport, food & drink, education, navigation, shopping, health, and finance. After April, the following Apps will be available for download: Chefaa, Okadoc, Homzmart, FittiCoin, Konnash, Baaz, Wajeez, Basket.jo, TiLa Online Shopping, Invygo, Munch:on, Swan, Petra Ride, Breadfast, and WaffarX.
Said Lu Geng, the VP Middle East, Africa Global Partnerships & Eco-Development pointed out the need to achieve business goals by “giving them the support they need.”
