New Southern Energy Partners with Solarus from Africa

Solarus, a startup that develops, produces and sells hybrid solar PowerCollectors is known for having an efficiency of over 70%. Considering that solar thermal solutions fit clients who need both electricity and thermal power, New Southern Energy (NSE) and Solarus have partnered to give better solutions. NSE strives to give its clients full energy services beginning from assessment to installation and maintenance. Solarus Power Collector has a concentrating that collects and reflects more sunlight throughout the day.

Some industries in South Africa such as hospitality have adopted the use if solar thermal system. For example, the Vineyard and Radisson hotels are using these technologies.

According to the CEO of NSE, David Masureik, the organization intends to solve complex African energy challenges by adopting the use of renewable energy. Therefore, NSE wants to use distributed energy approach in solving these challenges. Additionally, Masureik said that partners such as Solarus offer their clients with innovative solutions. He also appreciated the fact that they have limited surface area for installation of their solutions. Therefore, they choose solar thermal solutions which give thrice power per installed surface area as compared to the traditional PV panels.

Leen Zevenbergen, the CEO of Solarus said that their partnership with NSE will help them meet more clients’ needs hence leading to their growth and expansion in Africa.
