Udok a telehealthcare provider has expanded its connected care services throughout South Africa, after raising R10 million in funding from  FinEx Capital, a local venture capital firm.

Paarl-based Udok was founded in 2018 as an online doctor consultation service. The startup runs a connected care platform based on proprietary intellectual property that is developed in-house.

Why Udok?

Udok offers direct remote consultations to its patients through its pharmacy clinics. The platform has registered increased usage since the Covid-19 became a pandemic. The funds are then used to expand the network and technology while providing access to Udok’s virtual practice that offers  200 Clicks Pharmacies nationwide. Udokalsooperates on its smart patient queuing system run on AI that manages the patient’s workload.

According to statements shared by MobiHealthNews,  Dr. Petrus van Niekerk, Udok’s CEO said, “Our mission is to make healthcare accessible to everyone on this continent through the use of a smart device which can be the patient’s own or with the help of a nurse.”
