Sagarmatha Technologies Donate $8 million to Improve digital skills in Africa

The young programmers from Africa have something to smile about after Sagarmatha Technologies announced its plan of partnering with certified African and global learning institutions to improve digital skills in Africa. The company has planned to offer $8 million for the training which is scheduled to occur between 2018 and 2022.

Sagarmatha Technologies management strongly believes that the economies of African states can be revived by improving digital skills in Africa which will create more jobs. According to the plan, 5,000 African coders are expected to gain from this program, and the first intake will only include South African coders.

According to the chairman of Sagarmatha Technologies, Mr. Paul Lamontagne, the company has a vision of making African technology be at the level of Silicon Valley. He explained that Silicon Valley has always been committed to partner with various organizations and government to improve digital entrepreneurship.

Upon completion of the first-year program, the beneficiaries have the freedom to benefit from a one-year membership program or continue to their second year. The reason for setting the membership program in tech hub and accelerators is to win the loyalty of potential employers. Sagarmatha Technologies has its headquarters in Cape Town, South Africa but intends to open other offices in other African states.

The 5,000 learners who are expected to benefit from this program are mainly going to learn Java, C++ and C# programming language. They will be issued with certificates upon successful completion of the course.

Within the next 12-18 months, Sagarmatha Technologies is expected to open its offices in various countries and partner with other tech companies which share the vision of improving digital skills in Africa.
