VodaPay Super App has been launched in South Africa. The app is part of a collaboration with the global fintech service platform Alipay. VodaPay is an all-encompassing mobile payment solution customized to meet the lifestyle and payment needs of businesses, consumers, and tech developers.
Businesses and developers of all sizes are urged to join the VodaPay ecosystem by building special mini-programs. Vodacom Financial Services will leverage its world-class technology in accelerating digital engagement and increasing market access.
Whether users want to send money, pay bills, play games, shop online, or order takeaways, all this can be done on Mini-programs will be capable of delivering.
VodaPay Super App provides endless possibilities in getting new customers, trading, and advertising through its mini-programs. Shameel Joosub, Vodacom’s CEO described the app as a “technology solution that will transform the fintech ecosystem in South Africa.”
Thus far 70 businesses have committed to building their own mini-programs on this Super App. Among the brands are Exclusive Books, KFC, Jacaranda FM, Builders Warehouse, Westpack, Kit Kat Cash & Carry, TravelStart, Booking.com, Michelle Ludek, Netflorist, and several others. Vodacom Financial Services has also integrated the mini-program technology into South Africa’s payment environment, thus ensuring interoperability within the local market. Mini Programs accept both online and physical payments from customers by using the in-app digital wallet.
Vodacom Financial Services alongside VodaPay’s technical team will offer merchants and developers training on how best to employ this technology at their disposal.
