The Africa Fintech Summit Biannual Event to Host in November in Lagos, Nigeria

The upcoming Africa Fintech Summit managed by Dedalus Global to be attended by innovators, investors, policymakers, and other important stakeholders in the sector of Fintech. The summit will focus on discussing the finance technology transformation in Africa, debate regulatory policies, make comparisons for best practices, as well as forge new efforts.

TechInAfrica – The Africa Fintech Summit’s (www.AfricaFintechSummit.com) biannual event will be hosted in Lagos, Nigeria starting from November 8 to 9 November 2018. It will be the first time for Lagos to host the big event. The event follows the early event in Washington D.C which was attended by policy-makers, C-suites business executives, start-ups, and investors.

Dedalus Global will host the event where it gathers many important people, including innovators, investors, policy-makers, and other stakeholders in the sector. To answer why Lagos is chosen to host the event, the Chairman of the Summit, Leland Rice speaks up: “Lagos is a center of Africa’s fintech revolution which makes it the ideal city for the event. Many successful companies from the city, including Paga, Flutterwave, Mines.io, and Paystack have also been a consideration to choose the city.

Leland continued, “The Summit event in Lagos is planned to be successful to follow the first edition in Washington D.C. The focus will be facilitating innovators and policy-makers to work on fintech regulation together as well as founders and investors for further discussion about capital raises.”

The event agenda will be featuring missions of investors from countries like the U.S., the U.K., and U.A.E. In addition, it also will feature startups and entrepreneurs in Nigeria on Alpha Expo, blockchain masterclass, and an awards ceremony.

As a response to the selection of Lagos as the Summit city, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technology, Lanre Osibona said, “By its selection as the Summit city, it proves that Nigeria is on the process to make the areas of technology and financial services. The event is seen as a highly important event as it is to promote Nigeria’s tech sector.

The Founder of Paga, Tayo Oviosu also stated relatively the same opinion, “The first edition of Africa Fintech Summit in Washington D.C has generated useful insights into the fintech sector as well as enabled me to meet with the important people in the industry. I am excited about the second edition in Lagos.”

The speakers of the event will be Dr. Andrew S. Nevin as the Chief Economist of PwC Nigeria, Eghosa Omoigui as the Managing General Partner of EchoVC, Uzoma Dozie as the CEO of Diamond Bank, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji as the Founder of Flutterwave, and Shola Akinlade as the CEO of PayStack.
