“AVEVA and Azule Energy Join Forces to Empower Global Operations with Digital Transformation Capabilities”

Share

To bring digital excellence to Azule Energy’s operations and activities, the world’s leading industrial software provider encouraging innovation and sustainability has teamed with Angola’s largest independent oil and gas operator.

The partnership agreement will enable Azule Energy – a 50/50 Joint Venture backed by bp and Eni – to reduce costs, improve safety and unlock new production opportunities using AVEVA’s cloud, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and digital twin technologies.

Also, the partnership will help reduce the time spent looking for information about important assets, improve maintenance planning, reduce travel and trips to offshore areas, encourage teamwork, and make remote operations easier.

Azule Energy has a strong pipeline of new projects to help Angola’s rising economy meet its energy needs and strengthen its position as a global supplier of liquified natural gas (LNG).

Digital Twin Spans Entire Asset Lifecycle

AVEVA will use its digital twin software to link data from all of the layers of the technological stack into a single, multi-visual, contextualized experience. In the first phase, AVEVA will focus on existing operations, putting in place AVEVA Asset Information Management, AVEVA Information Standards Manager, and Assai Cloud for Operations for two existing floating production storage and offloading units (FPSOs) in Block 18 (Greater Plutonio Development) and Block 31. (PSVM).

The only solution on the market that works for the whole lifecycle of an asset is AVEVA’s digital twin technology. The solution is scalable, open, and works with any vendor. It combines engineering and enterprise data to establish a genuine digital backbone that will provide Azule’s team access to industrial intelligence.

COO of Azule Energy, Peter Harriman, said, “We have signed a strategic contract with AVEVA to digitally transform our operations to make them more productive, efficient, and safe.” With this agreement, Azule Energy will be able to reach its goal of becoming a world-class business.

Caspar Herzberg, CEO of AVEVA, said, “Moving to AVEVA SaaS will allow Azule Energy to come up with new ideas and work together remotely on their FPSO assets. The ships are placed a long way out to sea, which makes running them a big task.

The vessels are placed a considerable way out to sea, which makes it hard to run them. Using data-driven insights, The Azule crew will be able to break down silos and make it easier for teams on land and the FPSO to talk to each other. They will apply what they know together to improve operations and deliver faster.

Herzberg noted, “AVEVA’s industry-leading visualization technology will help Azule Energy deliver faster and on a larger scale.” AVEVA is the only company that can offer a fully integrated system that can be built fast and reliably. We are committed to giving Angola safe, low-carbon energy to support its long-term growth.
