Eight Finalists to Take Part in the Accelerator Program in Cape Town

Accelerator Program is developed to improve local eHealth innovation. The program will take place in South Africa in 2018. Digital Health Cape Town (DHCT) will run the whole program. This will be the first important digital health accelerator. The finalists who are supposed to attend the program were announced on 19th January 2018. The selected accelerators have each come up with innovative eHealth solutions. The solutions address the real-world health problem. The lucky startups are at this moment listed below.

Vula Mobile

Dr. William Mapham is the founder and CEO of Vula Mobile. Vula Mobile links health workers to specialists in tertiary hospitals. The platform is much preferred by many South African locals.

Udok

Udok is an online clinic platform. Petrus Van Niekerk is the founder of the platform. Udok is known for its digital solutions. The solutions allow doctors to interact with patients. That helps the doctors to carry out treatment and track the patient’s health care.

HealthAtHome

 Dr. Anuschka Coovadia is the founder of the health platform.  HealthAtHome works on offering quality health services. It as well offers affordable and patient-centered care to patients at their doorsteps.

ConnecTB

ConnecTB works on helping a group of health attendees to check the TB patients. It’s an online platform founded by Brighton Khumalo. ConnecTB brings together supervisors, administrators and observed therapy (DOT). The groups register and check on TB.

GeneCare Molecular Genetics

It’s responsible for providing high-quality exercise programs. It also offers educational video-coaching and access to customized diet ways. The platform was founded by Nicole Van Der Merwe.

Aviro Health

The Aviro ART Treatment Mentor app assists nurses in treating HIV patients. Dr. Musaed Abrahams is the founder of the platform. The platform works well in remote areas where services are minimal.

GC Network

GC Network’s Pregnancy Screening app shows individuals of their risk for a chromosome abnormality in their pregnancy. It also shows detailed in the information of available prenatal tests. It, later on, helps them to make positive decisions. Suretha Erasmus is the founder of the app.

RAR Group VRHEALTH

Founded by Vera Sheba, the platform offers a safe and virtual environment to patients. Main patients are the ones affected by substance abuse. It works on bringing patients back to their normal and sober behaviors.

The startups will take part in a ten-week program that kicked off on 23rd January 2018. The finalists will have an opportunity to take part in the product design talks. The session will work on digital health problems and solutions to them. Great opinion leaders will grace the program.
