Carrefour to improve retail shopping experience with mobile app in Kenya

Carrefour just introduced a new online platform in Kenya. Through the mobile app customers can browse their essentials easily and conveniently and adding them to a shopping cart.

Capital FM reports that Carrefour is owned and operated in Kenya by Majid Al Futtaim. Going by the company’s goals, the idea is to give customers a unique shopping experience that allows them easily browse while adding their essentials to a digital cart.

Over 8,000 items are on offer from fresh foods, groceries, and other light household products. Within the app is a function that allows users to build their own shopping list. One can also quicken the process y narrowing on the frequently purchased tab that helps in savings.

 Franck Moreau, the Kenya country Manager of Carrefour at Majid Al Futtaim Retail expressed confidence in the use of this new app. The idea is to give Kenyans a safe and convenient option when shopping from their homes.

At present, delivery is possible within Nairobi. Plans of extending this coverage across the country are also underway. At present mobile money payment is the only acceptable medium for checking out on online payments, however, the team plans on extending debit and credit card options soon.
