CcHub Announces the Acquisition of iHub for an Undisclosed Fee

TechInAfrica – The leading tech innovation center in Nigeria, Co-creation Hub (CcHUB), has announced the acquisition of Kenya’s iHub for an undisclosed fee. The deal has made iHub as part of CcHub’s broader central support and network. Bosun Tijani, Co-Founder of CcHub will be the CEO for both CcHub and iHub.

Furthermore, the deal will also allow CcHub to make key hires in innovation consulting, people management, program management, and community support, in order to strengthen its network in Africa, mobilize resource, network, and partnerships to foster tech innovation and entrepreneurship on the continent.

The acquisition is part of CcHub’s mission to connect entrepreneurs, technologist, and public bodies across Africa. The action was taken just seven months after the tech center expanded to Kigali, Rwanda and launched Design Lab, Africa’s first creative space focusing on product design and tech innovation.

“We are long-time admirers and collaborators of iHub, a world-class community of developers, entrepreneurs and business people who have been instrumental in growing Kenya’s extraordinary technology ecosystem,” said Tijani.

He continued, “CcHub’s mandate is to build a formidable innovation ecosystem with a deeply rooted network, cultivating strategic partnerships and practical industry know-how that can support entrepreneurs in building thoughtful, relevant and scalable solutions. We believe we can only do this if we are intentional and proactive in how we scale and grow our reach, not only across Africa but also internationally. This is the reason behind our acquisition of iHub and we continue to be bullish in our combined efforts in creating hundreds of thousands of more opportunities for businesses across Africa”.

CcHub was launched in 2011 and partnered by global companies including Google for Start-ups, Facebook, Oracle, and organizations like Omidyar Network and Ford Foundation. It is Africa’s first open living lab and pre-incubation space, a platform for technologists, social entrepreneurs, government bodies, tech companies, tech investors, and so on.
